New Update: Gmail on Android announcements are getting a whole new look that might divide druggies
Fluently see whether an announcement is from Google Chat or Spaces
Android druggies will soon be suitable to snappily see whether they have an
announcement from Google Chat or Spaces right from the status bar as a new
update is now rolling out to Gmail.
As Haunts will soon be replaced by Google Chat for Google Workspace druggies,
the hunt mammoth has added new status bar icons that make it easier to
separate between Google Chat and Spaces announcements.
Up until now, Google's messaging app Converse and its Slack and Microsoft
Brigades contender Spaces have both used a filled-in communication bubble with
another one behind it as their status bar icon. This made it delicate for
druggies to determine whether they had a communication from a single colleague
or if someone had said commodity in a group converse.
New status bar icons
As spotted by 9to5Google, Gmail for Android is presently in the process of
rolling out separate icons for both Chat and Spaces announcements.
The new Chat icon is a single communication bubble that is outlined and has
empty innards while the new Spaces icon depicts three people coming to each
other. However, that's because they are presently being used on Google's
dispatch customers for desktop If either of these new icons looks familiar.
While the new Google Chat icon makes sense, some druggies might be confused by
the new Spaces icon at first since it looks more like a social networking app
than a plant converse app.
According to 9to5Google, the publication has only seen these new status bar
icons appear on a single Android smartphone running Gmail
interpretation2022.02.20. Still, Google will probably roll them out to further
Android bias soon.
