What can the subsequent iPhone do better?

A new iPhone - probably the iPhone 13 - is coming in 2021, albeit you're
barely wrapping your head around the iPhone 12 family – and we’ve already seen
a spread of juicy leaks and rumors land.
Apple’s 2021 handsets are likely to launch toward the top of next year, but
we’re hearing news from a spread of sources about what to expect on the
next-gen iPhone from Apple.
What’s the general word right now? We’ve heard from all different types of
sources to not expect any humongous upgrades, as rumors point to the corporate
that specializes in refining the planning, improving the internals, and, maybe
even bringing in much more powerful cameras.
All of this is often speculation at the instant and should be subject to vary
when Apple is prepared to release its next handset.
Below you’ll find everything we all know thus far about subsequent iPhones,
including our greatest guess at an iPhone 13 release date, and a variety of
things we would like to ascertain Apple introduce in its 2021 handset.
Update: Apple could add a periscope camera to the iPhone 13, letting you
concentrate further than with the iPhone 12 range. Plus, ever more sources
suggest that one among the iPhone 13 models are going to be portless.
Cut to the chase
- What is it? subsequent iPhone
- When is it out? Probably September 2021
- What will it cost? Expect $699 / £699 / AU$1,199 and up
iPhone 13 release date and price
When ready to "> are you able to expect to be able to buy a next-gen
iPhone? We expect the iPhone 13 release date to be set for September 2021, but
which will be subject to vary given the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the last 10 years, Apple has consistently introduced its flagship phones
at an occasion near the beginning of September and released the phones 10 days
later. All that changed in 2020, thanks to the pandemic, and therefore the
phones were delayed beyond their usual window.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro were pushed back to October, and therefore the
other two devices – the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max – were released
in November, reportedly thanks to a scarcity of parts for the manufacturing
process.
If we were depending on a date, we’d expect Apple to maneuver its iPhone 13
release go back to September 2021, and indeed a minimum of one well-respected
Apple analyst agrees with us.
Little is understood about the worth of the iPhone 13, but we’d expect it to
be an identical level to the iPhone 12 family. Those handsets cost quite the
2019 phones – the iPhone 11 series – but that’s due to the addition of 5G and
a couple of other technical elements.
We’ll make certain to incorporate more 2021 iPhone price leaks and rumors as
we hear them, but below you'll see the costs for the iPhone 12 series that
we’re relatively confident are going to be similar next year.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max deals

There’s every chance subsequent iPhone won’t be called the iPhone 13. That’s
very true because the number 13 is seen as an unlucky number in parts of the
planet, including the US, so it's going to be Apple wants to skip this numeral
when it comes time for a replacement iPhone.
With rumors suggesting we’ll see a comparatively similar design to the iPhone
12, it's going to be that the corporate is reading an iPhone 12s family for
2021. this is often common practice for Apple where it introduces an ‘S’
series the year after an enormous upgrade, and it's going to be we see that
next year.
iPhone 13 leaks and rumors
You may think with the iPhone 13 release date thus far within the distance
that we wouldn't know much about the next-gen phone, but a spread of sources
have shown us some things to expect on subsequent iPhone.
First off, we're expecting four members of the iPhone 13 family. Those are
likely to be – but this is not guaranteed – the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13,
iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The company focused on three models until 2020 when it introduced the mini
model because of the fourth handset within the iPhone 12 family. Most rumors
suggest that'll continue in 2021, and that is even more likely to happen if
the iPhone 12 mini sells well.
We're expecting similar designs to the iPhone 12 family, and therefore the
screen technology is probably going to be similar also because the corporate
made big upgrades thereto element of the iPhone 12.
One thing rumored for the iPhone 12 that did not come to fruition was the
addition of a high refresh rate display. Rumors suggest which will be
introduced on the iPhone 13, and that'll make the display look smoother when
playing games or scrolling through your social media feed.
The most important development on the iPhone 13 models from my perspective is
going to be ProMotion with variable refresh rates through LTPO adoption on the
professional models. October 2, 2020
That technology can also add an identical thanks to what we have seen on the
company's iPad Pro lineup where it's ready to vary the refresh rate counting
on what activity you're doing on your phone.
The topic of the notch has been under scrutiny also with some sources claiming
that it will remain an equivalent size because the iPhone 12 et al. believing
it'll be set to shrink in 2021. what is going to happen here is especially
unclear immediately.
Another leak has also suggested the corporate may finally be able to introduce
an under-display fingerprint scanner. tons of Android manufacturers include
this technology on flagship phones, and this leak suggests Apple is prepared
to imitate.
One source has also suggested that 2021 could also be once we see the
introduction of 1TB iPhones. That's a storage size the corporate hasn't
experimented with yet, and we'd expect it to be an option on the phone's
costliest handsets.
hope y’all are ready for 1TB iPhones on October 28, 2020
If Prosser's information is correct, which will well bring the foremost
expensive iPhone ever as that's tons of storage on one handset.
As for the camera, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – who is usually right about Apple
information – has suggested the iPhone 13 camera could also be bumped to an
f/1.8, six-element lens from the present f/2.4, five-element lens on the
professional.
There also are reports that Apple is looking into adding a periscope camera to
a future iPhone. this is able to leave a greater zoom range than current
models, maybe up to 10x optical zoom, potentially without making the camera
components any thicker. However, supported rumors this won't arrive until the
iPhone 14 or a good later device.
Little else has been rumored specifically around the camera, but we'd expect
Apple to specialize in this as a key area to differentiate the handsets from
the iPhone 12 family.
This may not actually happen, but there have also been rumors of a portless
iPhone debuting in 2021. it's going to be the corporate only has one handset
that does this, but it might mean it'll only use wireless charging.
It's a claim that we've heard from a variety of sources, but most suggest that
just one model (most likely the iPhone 13 Pro Max) will go portless.
On the battery front meanwhile, we've heard from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that the
iPhone 13 might switch to soft board technology, which could leave physically
smaller batteries without reducing the capacity.
There's also an Apple patent that talks a few 'protective charging' modes,
which might stop you from overcharging the phone albeit you allow it plugged
for certain long periods (such as overnight). However, patents don't always
get used, so don't calculate this.
Expect 5G support to continue in 2021 iPhones in fact, but it's expected the
corporate is going to be switching to either mmWave or sub-6 devices, allowing
it to save lots of money.
That essentially means if mmWave technology isn't available in your country,
you will only be ready to buy the sub-6 version. Apple included both versions
of the 5G technology on the iPhone 12, which saw the worth of the handset rise
significantly within the US especially.
iPhone 13: what we would like to ascertain
With little known surely about the iPhone 13, we've put together an inventory
of things we'd like to see the corporate introduce for its next-gen device. a
number of these will match with what you've examined above, et al. are just
things we would like to ascertain Apple do.
1. an enormous camera upgrade
The iPhone 12 series brought some slight camera tweaks to the family of
handsets, but it wasn't a big overhaul that a lot of were hoping for.
Expect to ascertain an improved camera in 2021, and we're hoping for an enormous one which will mean the corporate can hold onto its footing in making a number of the absolute best shooters on the market.Like DSCC, Mizuho Securities also says no new iPhone SE model in 2021, have to wait till 2022. They do say all iPhone 13 models will have integrated touch, BOE will join LGD on both 6.1" models, mini and 13 will adopt 12 Pro Max camera sensors, & sensor size will increase on Pro. pic.twitter.com/G9f6cz8dm0

2. Improved battery life
The iPhone 12 didn't improve the battery life on handsets that much over the
iPhone 11 series, so we'd wish to see Apple put more attention on battery life
within the future.
Nowhere is that this is more true than on the iPhone 12 mini, which has the
worst battery lifetime of the whole family. It's okay enough to deal with on
each day to day basis, but we'd wish to see Apple plan to improving battery
life further.
3. An iPhone 13 mini
This may appear to be a clear one, but we actually just like the iPhone 12
mini and we'd wish to see it become a mainstay of the iPhone family.
Smaller handsets that are as capable because the flagship alternative is few
and much between in 2020, so we'd wish to see the corporate plan to this new
size of the handset again for the iPhone 13.
4. A price drop
This is unlikely to be possible for the iPhone 13, but with the worth of the
iPhone 12 series increasing over the iPhone 11 we'd wish to see the corporate
drop its prices again in 2021.
A rumor suggesting the corporate will only be using 5G technology relevant to
whatever market you reside in, which will allow Apple to drop the worth less
than it had done before.
5. The death of 64GB iPhones
iPhone 12 Pro review
The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 are both available with 64GB of storage,
and that we believe that may not enough room on a smartphone in 2020. Some
are going to be ready to handle that, but if you would like to form the
foremost of your device you will probably find it'll clog after a couple of
years of usage.
hope y’all are ready for 1TB iphones
— Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) October 28, 2020
We'd wish to see Apple introduce 128GB because of the minimum device size in
2021, and hopefully, bring the worth of the larger storage variants right
down to a cheaper level.
6. A high refresh rate display
Rumored for the iPhone 12, a high refresh rate display is going to be
another solid screen upgrade that we'd like to see included on the iPhone to
stay competitive with other smartphones on the market.
It's the kind of upgrade you do not know you would like until you've used a
phone with the technology included, but it's something that might make a
clear difference to the iPhone experience.
7. a far better option for chargers
iPhone 12 Pro Max review
The iPhone 12 was the instant Apple decided to drop chargers within the box.
consistent with Apple, that's an initiative it believes will save on waste
and while this will be true it is not the foremost user-friendly way of
doing so.
We'd wish to see the corporate come up with an alternate thanks to offering
chargers to those that want them, while also not including them within the
box by default.
Perhaps, each iPhone could accompany a charger coupon that you simply can
take advantage of if you're in need of a charger but it strongly discourages
you from doing so if you have already got how to charge your phone?
